Is bigger better!
With conference agencies merging and growing everywhere in the race to catch preferred agency status it seems that profit has been forgotten.
The low p/e ratio seems deadly dangerous in an economy that is stretched at this time.
Usually maintaining your percentages on turnover are better than being yanked round by the neck and getting nothing out of it.
The agencies that do not enter these rebate schemes have an easier more solvent business.
There has to be more to this business than just merging your debts and hoping the shares will have a viable future.
Conference weekly reporters know of certain small agencies that make bigger net profits than some with 300 employees.
So it is all about getting the right size of business

Are Conference agents being ripped off?!
As conference agents, we are in this industry providing a service for our clients to achieve their needs. This generally comes at no cost for the client; however at what cost does this affect the business?
Agents can often feel used and abused, as our ideas and booking power can be misplaced by clients, and someone else can reap the benefits of our hard work. Like all business’ we have to recover costs through what well – no pitch is free, and someone always pays in the end.
This is a great industry to be in, however it is frustrating when you are used as an ideas factory for large corporate companies, that have preferred agents, or companies that never intend to book through, but collect information and rates and go direct anyway.
In an ideal world agents should have the right to charge, however asking for a fee could deter potential clients. Morris Conferencing continues with free venue finding in order to provide the best service for their customers by saving them time and money.

Religious Venues
Religious Conferences
A noticeable trend in the meetings and conference industry is the increasing number of Religious events in the UK.
Religious conferences send to have large numbers of people attending, often 300+, often with bedrooms. As they do tend to have very low budgets, organisers of these events often find it hard to locate a venue that will come into their price brackets. At Morris Conferencing, we have good contacts with University’s in the UK, which often are ideal as they have large lecture theatre’s, plenty of syndicate rooms and lots of accommodation, however some venues are not available all year round.
There are many large hotels and conference centre are able to take on these larger religious conferences. Delegates can opt for a twin room to bring the costs down. Weekends and the months of July, August and early September are probably the best times to hold a conference as it is off-peak in terms of conferences for venues. These events are also family orientated, so the summer months are often ideal as children will not have to take time off school.
Morris Conferencing deal with many large religious events for different religions, delegate numbers and various locations in the UK and Ireland. As finances often force religious groups into a ‘no frills’ approach, Morris will take this into account and work with you to meet all of your needs. We have contacts with many University’s, hotels and conference centres that can accommodate large numbers. We negotiate to get the best price for you, by looking at all aspects of the conference.

London Conference Venues
Let's face it, for conference meetings and other events London is the centre of the universe.
At the time of writing, it's never been busier (or more expensive) to hold an event in the capital. Fortunately, Morris are very experienced in organizing events all over London - not just in the big hotels and chains, but all the lesser known independents who do a great job at lower prices. We get calls daily from government departments seeking great facilities at common sense prices.
