Conference Venues Gives Success

My name is Mike Morris and I founded this company twelve years ago with the help of my lovely wife Sue.

I was in my forties and found myself out of work and after making hundreds of CV’s without a reply the penny dropped that at 48 I was on the road to nowhere. It started off in our spare bedroom with no room to swing a cat, two phone lines and a well worn green screen pc to connect to the internet.

I had worked for a small conference centre in Oxfordshire on a sub contract basis, it was hard “cold calling” to gain enquiries and then to locate better available venues at lower prices than they could find themselves was the big challenge. Always up against the clock Sue and I would make up to a 100 calls in a ten hour day not trusting to emails being picked up. Our reasoning was how hard can it be to offer a free service in the beginning we sent simple proposals that gave the clients what available for them on their dates.

In this business there is “many a slip between cup and lip” but being naive or more likely trusting the quality of the venues we started to make confirmations on behalf out the client enquiries we had taken on.   The buzz that delivered was as good as it got.
